The optimal method of buying one of my images is to purchase a print only; that is, without mount and frame. You probably already have a good idea where the image is to hang and may be wondering whether my choice of frame is going to blend into your surroundings. Selecting a frame is a personal choice and obviously has to be one you like and suit where it's to hang. My preference may not be yours, but a plain black frame is available should you so wish.

The 'Image Size' you see below is the total area of the Cibachrome paper provided by Ilford. You will lose a good half inch of this all round so that the window mount can hold the image securely in place.

Each image is hand-printed by myself from a 10x8 inch transparency. You've probably seen a 35mm transparency? Well, imagine one 80 times bigger. You may also ask - why bother? The difference in detail and definition is quite astonishing. Enlarge a 35mm transparency to 24x20 inches and you'll see pretty enormous grain and the image will appear fuzzy. That's because the transparency has been enlarged 17.4 times the original (17.4 x 35mm = 609mm = 24 inches). Conversely, a 10x8 inch transparency is only enlarged 2.4 times the original (10 inches x 2.4 = 24). The result has to be seen to be believed.

If you think that the image is too large for the space you have in mind, then no worries : a smaller print can be made, although the price remains the same. If in doubt please email me.
